![]() ![]() Cleveland Tramrail® by GorbelOverhead Crane Systems made from Patented Tarca® Track & ComponentsOverview— Capacities up to 5 ton— Completely free standing or braced systems — Rectangular coverage with spans to 60' — Runway supports centers available in 20'-40' increments — Superior to I-Beams in strength, durability, and consistency DescriptionCleveland Tramrail® is an overhead crane system made from uniquely patented Tarca®Track and components. Cleveland Tramrail® is used for monorails and under-hung crane systems and has a proven track record in providing overhead lifting solutions. Its three piece welded construction is a compound section of a mild steel top flange and web and a specially rolled high-carbon steel lower rail. Tarca® systems are characterized by consistently straight rail section and durable, high quality Tarca® components. The Tarca® systems offer unmatched versatility, durability and ease of installation. Configurations— Floor supported pre-engineered systems— Ceiling mounted pre-engineered systems Why Chose Tarca— High carbon flange means longer track life— The raised tread provides durability and superior safety — 100% weld penetration ensures quality — Track and components stand the test of time — Straight rails allow for easy, cost effective installation — High quality designs mean reduced maintenance costs Options— Completely free standing— Braced system — Multiple bridge configurations — Custom paint — Curves — Interlocks — Switches — Safpowrbar® electrification ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Crane RunwaysStructural Support for Overhead CranesOverviewCrane Runways provide the structural support for Overhead Cranes to travel on. Endtrucks on each end of the Bridge Crane are the interface to the runway.TypesFree Standing- Totally independent self supporting systems (may require footings) - With Knee Braces to Floors - With Tie Backs to Building Steel Ceiling Mounted Runways - Connection to Ceiling Trusses or building steel - Flush mount or drop hanger arrangements Building Supported - Pre-engineered saddles mounted to building columns ConfigurationsTop Running Crane Systems: allow for an increase in high hook over the under running style. The runway system for these cranes is usually supported on independent columns or saddles off existing building column.Under Running Crane Systems: Under running cranes help improve hook approach by having the bridge girder extend beyond the runway center line. Also, if the loading applied from the runway system is designed into the building, runway columns may be eliminated. Note, when designing a runway system for under running cranes the flange stress due local wheel loading must be considered. Options- Tagline System- Festoon C-Track System - 4-Bar Conductor Systems - Rail or Square Bar for Top Running Runways (one or the other is required) - Adjustable End Stop - Hook Bolts (runway rail attachment and alignment) ![]() ![]() Mentor Bridge Crane - Box GirderSingle and Double Girder CranesOverviewELS will build Box Girder style cranes typically for large capacity heavy duty bridge cranes.A box girder bridge is a bridge where the main beam(s) is comprised of a girder(s) in the shape of a hollow box. The box girder normally is made from structural steel. The box is typically rectangular and has stiffener panels fabricated along the horizontal and vertical of the beam. Capacities and SpansELS can build Box Girder cranes to suit your applications.![]() ![]() ![]() Mentor Bridge Cranes - I-Beam HD DesignSingle and Double Girder Cranes Both Top and Under RunningCapacities and SpansCapacities up to 20 tons - Spans up to 60 feet.Top RunningTop running cranes allow for an increase in high hook over the under running style. Top RunningA Top Running crane has a beam mounted on end trucks to form a bridge that travels on rail atop a runway. It is designed to maximize headroom and allow for higher underhook lift.Under RunningAn Under Running Crane has a beam mounted to the underside of end trucks to form a bridge that is suspended from the lower flange of a runway. It is designed to maximize hook approach toward runway.Adaptable to Most HoistsCustomers may order the hoist of their choice. ELS can adapt the bridge drive, trolley, and hoist controls into a single pendant. Optional speed controls are available.Custom SD CranesYour exact span requirements (between our standard chart sizes) are available. Many other options in electrical controls, pneumatic or remote controls, braking, lower profile beams, bolted connections and other features can be supplied to suit your requirements.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mentor Bridge Cranes: Custom Low ProfileWhen Head Room is LimitedOverviewThe Mentor Single and Double Girder Low Profile cranes are specifically designed to give the most practical, reliable, economical and balanced solution for achieving optimal hook height in Low Head Room situations.Design ConsiderationsEach application requires a custom solution based on these considerations:— Required Lift - relative to clearance to lowest obstruction. — Required Span - As this affects beam selection. — Required Hook Travel. — Runway - The loading applied to the runway system is considered in the design. When designing a runway system for under running cranes the flange stress due local wheel loading must also be considered. Low Profile StyleELS’ design team carefully analyses what crane style will best suit each application.— Single Girder Under Running with Notched Bridge and/or Low Profile Beam Selection. — Single Girder Top Running with Notched Bridge and/or Low Profile Beam Selection. — Single Nested Girder. — Double Girder Under Running Design with Under Running Nested Trolley. — Double Girder Top Running Design with Under Running Nested Trolley. ![]() ![]() ![]() Mentor Custom Bridge CranesMade To Suit The ApplicationOverviewOur team of ELS Designers and Engineers can design a custom crane to suit your application.Types- Rotating Lifting BeamVideos
![]() ![]() ![]() Mentor Interlock SwitchConnecting Bridge Crane Systems to Monorail SpursOverviewTransfer loads from a bridge crane to monorail spurs or storage rails and vice-a-versa. Move loads to separate rooms or work cells. The bridge only engages the interlock when the operator actuates it. Options— Can be adapted to an existing crane system.— Powered Actuations — Limit switche — Radio control Safety Features— Trolley stops will not unlock and allow the passage of the hoist trolley until the bridge and the monorail are mechanically linked.— Bridge and monorail spur cannot be separated until the trolley stops are in a fully closed and locked postion. ![]() ![]() Runout Beam (Telescopic)Extending Bridge Beam Length Into Adjacent Work AreasOverviewThis type of Bridge Crane is best designed to be built as an Under Running Crane. It is used when the reach of the bridge crane needs to extend beyond the span of the crane bay. It is recommended the Runout Beam be powered for easy of operation. |
