Application: A manufacturer of enclosures required sheet and plate materials to be lifted on and off a laser cutting machine.

The Problem: Handling flimsy, awkward metal sheets from palletized stock to a cutting table.

Alternatives: Manual lifting, magnet lifter, automatic sheet loader, lift table /slide sheet materials.

Products Chosen: A Mentor WBT Jib Crane column mounted with Kito electric chain hoist providing the vertical lift for an Anver 6 pad Mechanical Vacuum Sheet Lifter (with parking stands).

Benefits: One operator can perform the lifting and transferring of the sheets allowing the other worker to be reassigned to another job tasks thus improving operational efficiencies.

The Anver mechanical vacuum sheet lifter is self powering so there was no need to run power to the equipment. Having the six pads on the mechanical lifter evenly distributes the load and handles the sheet deflection.

The WBT jib crane mounted on corner brackets improved rotation of the jib from 200 degrees to 270 degrees giving greater radial coverage to the work area.
